About Me
What began as helping classmates grew into a passion for guiding students through the process of learning how to think, not just what to think. At Tutor Chat, we focused on building perseverant problem-solving skills, encouraging students to stay curious, work through challenges, and develop confidence in their own reasoning. I have tutored students across a wide range of ages and ability levels, particularly in mathematics, and I've learned that the most meaningful progress happens when students feel supported, understood, and capable. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps while helping students see the bigger picture, so they don't just memorize methods but truly understand the material. Beyond subject knowledge, I emphasize creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I believe mistakes are one of the most powerful learning tools, and I work to reframe frustration into productive exploration. My goal is always to leave students more confident in their abilities than when they started. Through Varsity Tutors, I hope to continue helping students build both academic skills and self-assurance, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed far beyond a single assignment or test.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of school and tutoring, I spend a lot of my time running and playing the violin. I recently completed the Honolulu Marathon, which was equal parts exhausting and rewarding. Training for a marathon takes a lot of consistency, mental toughness, and patience. That mindset has carried over into how I approach learning and teaching. I also play the violin with the Northeastern Symphony Orchestra. Being part of an ensemble has taught me how important listening and teamwork are, and how small individual improvements make a great team!
