I am Dr. Kavan Thompson, a second-year radiology resident, and I tutor because mentoring is not just something I do it is the thread that has defined every chapter of my life. From the baseball diamond to the anatomy lab to the radiology reading room, I have discovered that true success comes when you help someone else rise. That realization became my calling, and it is why I am here: to turn complex science into clarity, confidence, and real-world mastery for students just like you. My journey began at Nova Southeastern University, where I played collegiate baseball and helped lead our team to a national championship my senior year. The discipline, teamwork, and leadership I learned on the field taught me how to break down overwhelming challenges, stay calm under pressure, and lift others up skills I now bring into every tutoring session. While earning my medical degree at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, I didn't just study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and biochemistry; I tutored the entire class below me in those same subjects, watching students transform from anxious to confident in real time. That experience showed me the profound difference one dedicated mentor can make. I then pursued a Master's in Biomedical Sciences, conducting original research in biochemistry and genetics. Today, as a radiology resident, I immerse myself in human anatomy and physiology daily while applying advanced physics to imaging techniques that literally save lives. This unique vantage point allows me to connect textbook concepts to clinical reality in ways most tutors cannot.
