About Me

I come to tutoring from three directions that don't often overlap: I'm a published author and professional technical writer, a five-year homeschool educator, and a parent of neurodivergent kids with Autism and ADHD. That combination shapes everything about how I teach. Professionally, I've spent years helping people communicate clearly writing books, crafting technical documentation, and coaching others to find their voice on the page. I know what it takes to move from "I don't know how to say this" to writing that actually works. As a homeschool teacher, I learned that curriculum is just a starting point. Real teaching means figuring out how a specific person thinks, where they get stuck, and what approach will actually unlock understanding for them. There is no one-size-fits-all, and I stopped believing in that model a long time ago. Teaching and parenting neurodivergent learners taught me patience, creativity, and how to reframe concepts as many times as it takes without frustration and without making a student feel like the problem. Every brain is different, and different is not a deficit. I work with learners from PreK through adult level across English, writing, phonics, creative writing, and technical writing. Whether you're sounding out your first words, wrestling with a college essay, or trying to write more confidently as a professional I'll meet you where you are, move at your pace, and celebrate every step forward. My goal is never just to get you through an assignment. It's to help you actually understand and to leave every session feeling more capable than when you arrived.
