Hi! I'm Dr. Becca Evans, a biologist and educator with a PhD in Biology and over 10 years of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring experience. I specialize in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, English, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Study Skills. Throughout my career, I have worked with students ranging from elementary school through college, helping them build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and achieve their goals. As a university teaching assistant, mentor, and researcher, I've guided students through everything from foundational science concepts to advanced writing and research projects. I hold a PhD in Biology with expertise in ecology, environmental science, earth systems, scientific writing, and data analysis. My background combines extensive teaching experience with real-world research, allowing me to help students connect classroom concepts to practical applications in science and the environment. Outside of teaching and research, I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring the Pacific Northwest through hiking, mushroom hunting, and plant identification. I love learning and am an avid reader who enjoys discussing books and discovering new ideas. I'm also a creative person and enjoy crocheting, crafting, and baking. Whether I'm exploring nature, working on a project with my hands, or helping students achieve their goals, I value curiosity, lifelong learning, and finding joy in the process of growth and discovery.
