I am an Applied Physics Major with an Emphasis in Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University. I love to share the joy I have in the sciences and math to show truly the applications are so far-reaching.

I'm here to help in your math and physics classes! As a rising senior in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tennessee, I've been through nearly every math and physics course. I would like to use my past experience and education to help you excel in your STEM classes. Likewise, I feel that my approach to preparing for the STEM portion of the ACT will be helpful to college bound students. I have been the beneficiary of excellent instruction over my time as a student, and would enjoy teaching others. I am comfortable with any subject that I am certified to teach, and have a ton of resources to aid in your learning.

I'm an Iowa native who moved to Nashville for graduate school. My background is in the life sciences; I have a Masters from Vanderbilt in Chemical and Physical Biology, and my undergraduate degree is in Biochemistry. However, my education has been well rounded and I have interests in philosophy, literature, writing, and history. I have extensive research experience, and I hope to share my passion for science with students. I have experience mentoring undergraduate students during my graduate school education to help them gain research experience. I am a very patient teacher and have the ability to see problems from the students perspective; my tutoring style adapts to each student's individual needs, but centers on getting each student to come to their solutions rather than following any one formula for success. I have a lot of experience with standardized testing, and have taken multiple AP subject tests in addition to the ACT, SAT, and GRE examinations.

I am a Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology graduate and currently attend Vanderbilt University majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Business. I've tutored in various subjects for about 6 years now. I've done it so much, one of the companies I started was tutoring-based. In all, I am a technology-oriented entrepreneur, an impact-driven member of the community, and a striving academic. My passion for computer engineering and dedication to solving the world's problems push me to continue to be better tomorrow than I am today. I am Elsa! I am a Senior at Vanderbilt with aspirations to be a Pharmacist and Public Health official in the future in my home country of Ethiopia and other developing nations. I am a junior at Vanderbilt University studying Economics and Math, and I intend to get my PhD in Economics after graduating. As a senior physics major and pre-med student, I am passionate about understanding and teaching the principles behind physics and mathematics. I have been tutoring math and physics through Varsity Tutors for nearly three years, working with students across a range of levels. My goal is to help students not only solve difficult problems, but also develop a deeper understanding of the concepts behind them. I approach tutoring by first identifying where a student's understanding begins to break down. From there, I work with them to rebuild the concept step by step, connecting new ideas to what they already know. I want students to leave each session with greater confidence and the tools to approach future problems independently. Outside of academics, I enjoy climbing, crocheting, baking, and skating. I am currently a senior at Stony Brook University, and a physics and computer science double-major. I hail from the town of Clarence, New York, a suburb of Buffalo. I enjoy tutoring in part because of my affinity for the subjects that I'll be teaching, but the primary reason is that I like working with people and forming interpersonal connections.

I am currently working for a tutoring service called Princeton Tutoring as an independent contractor. As a member of their tutoring base, I instruct students in Math, Physics, AP Exams and most often, the SAT. I have obtained outstanding scores and am confident I can convey instruction and techniques that have worked for me. I have a solid foundation in the Spanish language and am completely fluent in German and Russian.

I'm a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in Linguistics and Theater. I have experience tutoring in a variety of subjects, but I'm particularly excited to help students with writing, critical reading, and SAT or ACT preparation. I had a strong support network of teachers and mentors throughout middle and high school, so I understand firsthand the importance of thoughtful, individualized educational enrichment. I am an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have tutored students since my early high school years. I've had experience instructing and guiding a variety of students, from young middle schoolers taking their first steps into the world of computer programming to my own peers struggling with their calculus exams. Over the past year alone, I've worked with over 30 students, spending several hours each day to help them stay up to speed on their schoolwork. I specialize in many areas of math as well as computer science, biology and physics. When tutoring students, I draw on my own experience with learning the material to identify and address the obstacles they face. I believe that promoting a deeper level of understanding of the subject, as opposed to merely teaching to the test or problem set, will enable students to excel in the long-term.

I am a Brown University graduate with an Sc. B. in Neuroscience and an A.B. in Economics. Although I tutor a range of different subjects, I enjoy tutoring Physics and Math the most. I am passionate about tutoring because I like guiding my students and helping them see problems in a much less complicated way. I'm a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math, Economics, and Computer Science. I've tutored in a variety of subjects throughout high school and currently work part-time as a Course Assistant for an Introductory Calculus course at Harvard.
