My Future in the FBI by Alli - March 2025 Scholarship Essay
In ten years from today, I can see myself as a dedicated and skilled FBI agent, working relentlessly to protect my country from all the evil that lies within it. Since I have gained a passion for law enforcement and criminology, I have always dreamt about working with the FBI. Within this career I know that I can and will make differences in people’s lives. By this time, I will have already finished my education in college, endured strict training, and gained beneficial experience that will help mold me into a great agent. I’ve known from day one that this path will not be easy, but with the support of my peers around me and my education will be the foundation that I need to achieve this life goal.
Going to college and continuing my studies in criminology will be the first major step towards my dream of working for the FBI. With my own personal study, I have come to learn that criminology isn’t just about understanding crime. It can be about anything from analyzing criminal behavior, studying these patterns, and finding solutions to stop or prevent these crimes from happening again. Getting a degree in criminology will supply me with the knowledge and many other skills that are a necessity in understanding crimes and how to solve them. Courses that I will be taking in college include forensic science, psychology, criminal justice, and law will get me one step closer to having an excellent understanding of crime.
During my time in college, I plan to take advantage of any opportunities available such as internships with law enforcement agencies and gain benefits from the hands-on experiences. Whether I get to work with local law enforcement agencies or private law enforcement, the experiences will give me an inside look at the field and give me the chance to apply my own knowledge in real-life situations. These internships will also give me the chance to meet professionals and allow me to build a network of peers that can guide me through my journey.
Once I earn my degree, I will be one step closer to joining the FBI. In order to join the FBI, I need to be able to meet their rigorous requirements, multiple background checks, and then get specialized training at the FBI Academy. Through this training I will be furthering my skills in intelligence gathering, interrogation, and even self-defense. Combining my knowledge with their strict training I will be ready to handle any complex investigation.
As soon as I am an FBI agent I would like to specialize in criminal profiling. This specialty will allow me to use my criminology background to analyze crime scenes, study behavior patterns and predict the actions of criminals. Even though most of the skills I learn will be used for my career they will have also shaped me to be a great leader with discipline and integrity. These skills can even help me through my own challenges because of my ability to solve problems effectively.
Ten years from now, I see myself accomplishing all my dreams of experiencing college, getting a degree in criminology, and making it all the way to the FBI. My education will be the foundation that gives me a variety of skills that will be needed in order to succeed in the FBI. Through my hard work and determination, I will achieve my dream and make the world a better place to live in.
