The student and I continued reviewing sections, strategies, and content. She also learned that she will be taking the test over 2 days with extended time, so we devised some strategies to help succeed under that format.

The student and I went over a science section that he completed for homework and a reading comprehension section. We then covered English. He has improved greatly in English, and has learned from his previous mistakes. He is now correctly solving problems that he was consistently getting incorrect in the past. In math, he needs to watch out for dropping negative signs and be conscious of when he should be dividing versus subtracting, but other than that he is doing well in the math. The tougher sections are still taxing, but there has been definite improvement.

The student finished the last practice test before he will be taking the exam on Saturday. We focused on a few science concepts, and then we also discussed test taking strategies. He is going to finish the essay and send me a copy so I can grade it.

We went over the reading and science passages that the student completed independently. While doing so, we reviewed strategies and discussed timing for the reading test. We also talked about unit circle trigonometry and rhetorical skills.

The student did very well, and I think that he is prepared for Saturday's test. We agreed that, during May, we would do an extensive review of trig and advanced algebra.

Today we mostly focused on reviewing the math and science sections. She had some trouble with the timed section of math, but still ended up with a 24, so it was a big improvement from her initial score. We also went over last minute strategy and I made sure to assure her of her abilities.
