My aspirations for this upcoming school year are simple but firm. I want to maintain a GPA similar to the one I had in high school, (which was a 3.8).I know I'm a bit over my head, I mean all I had to do in high school was turn in my assignments on time and that was easy to do when the deadline is bluntly stated on the board.

I believe in my ability to execute this task, but that's not all I want. I want to make lifelong friends; be a part of clubs my grandmother would proudly brag about to anyone who happens to be in the vicinity. I want to feel like I belong, like everything in my life lead up to this moment.

I'm not sure if you can see where my motivation comes from. I could make this simple and tell you it's my grandma, and that is partly true but my main motivation; is the fear of failure. the fear ill accept mediocre and when I am full of regret, I'll take it out on the people who love me. project onto my future children and train them to become better than me only for them to fold under the pressure and pass it on. fear can be a powerful motivator or an even powerful excuse. you can freeze up and let time pass and regret build, or you can fight for what you want. I'm fighting.
