As I am working on my academic goals, my main motivator is my future occupation. My academic goals revolve around achieving a bachelor's degree in English. With this degree I can go into the field of writing. Ever since I was a kid I enjoyed creating my own stories and writing them down. So for my future occupation I want to become a writer. I would like to write fiction stories or do script writing for films. That is why whenever I feel unmotivated to do any of my school work I think about what I could be missing out on in the future. Do I not want to do my work now and not enjoy my life in the future, or do I want to complete it now and be happy with my choices?

Now there are times where I feel really unmotivated to do anything and just having that thought doesn’t help. Therefore, to stay focused I work on stories that I have created. When writing my stories it helps fuel that dream of becoming a writer and it helps motivate me to continue my school work so I can publish them one day. I try not to get unmotivated often but they do happen. Luckily all I have to do is think about the end goal and that motivation comes back.
