My Aspirations by Jeremy - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

My biggest aspirations for my first year of college is to stay focused and fully engaged in all of my classes. I want to make sure I understand everything they teach me in each class that I am taking and also take good notes and complete my assignments on time. By doing this, I hope to gain the knowledge and skills I need to succeed in my field of study so I can earn my degree which is a degree in Information Technology.

Another important goal for me is to step out of my comfort zone and make new friends. College is not just about academics—it’s also about growing as a person and connecting with others. I want to meet people from different backgrounds, share experiences, and build friendships that could last beyond school. I believe surrounding myself with positive, motivated people will help me stay on track and make the most of my college journey.Overall, I want my first year to set the tone for the rest of my college experience: focused, balanced, and open to new opportunities both in and out of the classroom. In conclusion, these two goals are my biggest aspirations for my first year in college.
