We go to college mainly because of the desire and aspiration to improve and achieve a goal we have placed. Out of all the benefits a college degree can have, the most important by far, would have to be the increase in career opportunities and development. College offers us students many opportunities to expand and grow our knowledge, to adapt to new environments, and to build connections. Though we can somehow build ourselves up to meet these necessities, it would never be the same as going through college and adapting them firsthand.
As it is well known that the real world is very different from what we young students perceive it to be, with the right guidance, we can grasp onto reality and prepare ourselves for the future. Each student has a goal of their own, as well as a person or figure they look up to. It is important to consider the fact that this idol worked their way up the stairs of life, falling on certain steps, and coming back up. By learning from mistakes and by gaining experiences and desires for our goals and future, we can increase the chances of success. As many professions require a college degree, we are more likely to qualify for the job as having a degree than not having one at all. Jobs open positions for people who they feel are qualified and worthy of the role; similarly, hiring someone without the traits and abilities they are seeking, would decrease their standards- and no company or business would want to hire someone who disappoints them.
Many students decide college isn't the right path for them, and while that's okay, they miss out on many important factors that could benefit them in the future. Many students can’t afford the college path, and some can’t proceed further with their education due to the state of their well being, or the restrictions placed on them. In many countries, girls are not allowed any education at all. If given the opportunity to expand and grow, one should possess it, seeking for more, and gaining knowledge as no one can snatch it away from them. The degree itself is a symbol of knowledge, struggle and achievement in a certain field. By having this proof of knowledge on a certain subject, many professions would walk towards you with open arms, embracing you and the qualities you possess.
Aside from the career opportunities you would access while having a college degree, one could also achieve internal satisfaction and skill development. Being proud of yourself while holding the degree and resting it up on the wall, illustrating your achievements, is just one example of the satisfaction that is present afterwards. A symbol for your passion and hard work on the wall, rises a feeling of honor for yourself. Similarly, feeling connected, learning things on the way and gaining experience is another factor that a college degree can provide you with. Many important skills arise from college work itself. Talking to people, working together, due dates, and experimenting might sound bad, but in reality they develop your character, insisting you to move forward and grow intellectually.
As colleges foster discipline and opportunities, they are excellent in gaining what you will need in the future. As many opportunities in the future value the traits colleges assemble within you, there are higher chances of being successful, both intellectually and physically.
