I believe mentoring a student in this manner is just as crucial as teaching the concept itself. This strategy has been very effective in my teaching experiences, and I am certain that it will be effective with anyone who wants to do better in a subject area. My background in Biology began in 2004 and stretches through my time at Loyola University Chicago. I took Biology at an Honors and Advanced Placement level in high school and majored in it in college. But my level of expertise does not stop there--I have tutored students in virtually every subject from Kindergarten through 8th grade, and I have served as a mentor to many high school and undergraduate students on Chicago's north side. Along the way, I have learned from my students just as much as they have learned from me. Simply stated, Science is a difficult subject. It combines Reading Comprehension with Mathematics and forms an entirely new language. With my extensive background in Biology and Chemistry, I can help ensure a step-by-step explanation of the subject and the complex details that are essential to its understanding. Since science involves a great deal of Mathematics and Reading Comprehension background, I am also able to mentor in those subject areas to guarantee the student future success in the field. I find it important to prepare students not only for success in the subject in which they are learning, but for an overall triumph in their academia.
