I love tutoring students, and I have extensive experience working with students from middle school to high school. Last year I worked with Citizen Schools in Chelsea, MA, teaching 6th grade math and working with small groups of 5th grade English language learners on reading and phonics skills. This year I am working as a Spanish teacher and math and English tutor at Match Charter Public High School. I am excited to tutor a wide range of subjects, including SAT/ACT test prep, Writing/Reading, ESL, math (through Algebra I), and Spanish. When tutoring, I like to push my students to solve problems on their own with guidance from me only when necessary. I also like to have my students teach back concepts after I have explained them. The best test of whether a student has mastered a concept is if they can teach it back. I love helping students reach that 'lightbulb-above-the-head' moment! Some of my hobbies/interests outside of academics include knitting, photography, singing, traveling, reading, and learning Spanish.
