About Me
To the greatest extent possible, I customize my teaching strategy to each individual learner and his or her particular goals. The aim is improvement, always, not perfection, to see mistakes as opportunities to learn. I'm an educator transitioning from higher ed to high school teaching. I earned my PhD in sociology at Columbia University, where I also worked as an instructor, at the School of International and Public Affairs. I taught sociology for several years, as a visiting and adjunct assistant professor, at the City University of New York. Now I'm pursuing alternate route certification to teach high school social studies.
