About Me

In college I majored in Biology and minored in creative writing. During my four years at Scripps I had the opportunity to gain great conceptual understanding in both the sciences and humanities. I have always had a passion for learning. My curiosity for knowledge has allowed me to study in the humanities, the sciences, and in music. Over the past six years I have had various opportunities to tutor students in these subject areas. My main goal for these students, as well as future students, is to gain conceptual understanding of the material.

I strongly believe that every individual learns differently. My goal is to tailor my tutoring methods to each individual student. How can you help a student become an independent learner? Becoming an independent learner begins by obtaining conceptual understanding. I hope to aid students in seeking conceptual understanding of the material as opposed to rote memorization.
