From working with handicapped younger students when I was in high school to a recent experience with working with Russian adults learning English, helping students of all ages achieve their educational goals for a more fulfilling life has always been how my life gets fulfilled! I am a cum laude graduate of Drew University (theatre arts), Marygrove College (masters in teaching) and Rowan University (graduate endorsement in special education). I have learned a massive amount in the areas of how to capitalize on the interests and strengths of individuals through the use of respecting and understanding your childs learning styles and strengths. This gives me the ability to make learning interesting and challenging, but not daunting. Im the type of teacher that will not give up on a student and will continue to be creative and find and use current research to get the help he/she needs. Students seem to like me and look forward to our sessions because they know I generally care about them as people and want all their goals to come true( not just their academic ones).In my free time, I usually exercise my songwriting and playwriting skills in creating childrens musicals some which are currently being toured in different area schools. Helping Drew my anti-bullying musical was recently featured on One on One with Steve Adubato on PBS and my musical Monster Intelligence which tries to teach that we all dont learn in the same way played in the Las Vegas Summer Concert Series this past season. So, the tune Ill leave you with for now is that I sincerely hope I can help your child with any of the following: Reading (phonological awareness, phonics, comprehension), Writing (from abcs to term papers), English as a Second Language, Science (including projects), Social Studies/History, Math, Study Techniques (including memory techniques), and even Singing and Acting (school show help, auditions, etc.) Who knows- with you as the caring family, your student as the learner, and me as the tutor, we might soon all being taking bows!
