After graduating from Cornell University with a BA in Economics, I pursued post graduate studies in the FALCON (Full-Year Asian Language Concentration) program, which consisted of a full year of intensive Mandarin studies, partly at the Cornell University campus and partly at the highly ranked Peking University, in Beijing China. After completing my Mandarin studies in May 2013 with a GPA of 3.6, I remained in China for a year, and began a career with Pattison Education, as a tutor in Shenzhen China, where I taught English, Economics, and History to Chinese students at all levels, in a 1-to-1 setting. I also continued my Mandarin studies independently and achieved HSK level 5 Certification (July 2014). I enjoyed tutoring students so much, that after I moved back to the US, I continued both online and in person teaching of various subjects including Economics, Chinese, and TOEFL. I keep my tutoring schedule fairly flexible and I am just as comfortable teaching in-person as I am teaching in an online classroom.
