While memorization is important for certain things, I always appreciated understanding the "why" and "how" in school and I try to help my students achieve that level of understanding as well. I prefer to guide students through their problems to help them learn the skills needed for their classes in the future, though I am certainly happy to explain things outright when necessary. Outside of academics I have passion for open water swimming, a penchant for knitting, and a pathological sweet tooth.
