About Me
I taught at DeWitt Clinton High School for a year and a half before moving onto to other public service work. I take an interdisciplinary approach, using other subjects or real-world topics to help illustrate points and elicit learning. I enjoy exploring, observing, and finding the student's process for learning and, I receive tremendous fulfillment watching a student gain knowledge and applying it academically or in real life. Over the years I developed facilitator and listening skills and am conscientious about strengthening emotional intelligence so I can discern where there is a learning gap or a frustration (based on student's assumption or what they are not grasping). I help break down the teaching into smaller steps (e.g. using Socratic or developmental learning where appropriate or some other approach like Dr.Leonard Covello's broaching of local community problems to which they can relate).
