- Each student and academic situation are unique, and as such, requires varying teaching methods.
About Me
For years now I have been passionate about all things Englishputting words down effectively (and beautifully) on paper, reading classic (and sometimes not-so-classic) literature, and mastering the nuts and bolts of the language. My goal as a tutor is (obviously) to help you understand and master these subjects adequately enough to pass your test or class, but also, I hope to inspire in each student an appreciation for this amazing language and unlock the tools necessary to allow students to face future writing/reading/English-involving situations with confidence and skill. For several years I taught privately as a violin teacher, and since violin is considered one of (if not the) most challenging instruments to learn, this experience gave me valuable lessons in teaching patiently and creatively. I do not use a one-size-fits-all approach, but instead, strive to meet each student where they are and adapt the content to fit each students learning needs and preferences. Some of my other interests include traveling the globe, running long distance, all things outdoors (kayaking, camping, horseback riding, and the like), spending time with my family, and watching baseball (Go Royals!).
Hobbies & Interests
Reading, running, playing violin, cooking healthy foods, playing outdoor sports (especially ultimate frisbee), spending time with my family.
