10+ years of tutoring
Kim
- I am currently a high school teacher of students with autism.
About Me
This is my 16th year teaching this population and I love my career. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in elementary education and psychology from Rider University and my Master's degree in Special Education from Kean University. I received 18 post-master's credits in Behavior Analysis from Rutger's University and 12 credits towards earning a certification in LDTC (Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant). I am passionate about teaching and watching my students progress towards their individualized goals. My tutoring style is working one on one or in small groups, just as I do in my self contained classroom. This allows me to individualize instruction to meet each students' learning style. After school, I have often tutored elementary school students in Language Arts, Math, History, and other subjects, such as functional social and behavior skills. Language Arts would probably be my favorite. I believe that education is the foundation to success in life.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy keeping fit by working out at the gym or at home. I take kickboxing or weight training classes, as well as take walks, hikes, or jogs. I also enjoy traveling, dining out, theater, and being with family and friends. I devote most of my time to teaching my students with autism.
