About Me
I am currently on the pre-health track in the hopes of one day becoming an Obstetrician Gynecologist. I spend most of my free time volunteering for the Distinguished Young Women program as an interview coach and participant coordinator, locally and statewide. Most of my tutoring experience so far has occurred in a musical setting, working as a teacher's assistant and band captain in my high school band. I absolutely love music and am also very passionate about literature. I have a particular fondness for writing, and have worked as an editor for fellow students' essays for several years. When it comes to how I teach and my overall philosophy, I believe in a conversational approach; myself and the student work together to decipher what needs to be worked on, the best ways to tackle it, and the result of these practices. Education should be a judgement-free zone and as long as both parties are working together in harmony, any material can be learned with great success.
Hobbies & Interests
In my downtime, I love playing jazz music on my clarinet, reading fantasy novels, and listening to new music. I frequently bingewatch horror movies (my favorite is the Lighthouse) but I'm a complete cinephile, no matter the genre. I also love arts and crafts and woodworking (though I'm not very good at it).
