With more than ten years teaching university, graduate and undergraduate students, I am accomplished academic, researcher, and mentor of academics and researchers. I hold a BA in History and in Philosophy from Spring Arbor University (MI), including studying abroad at Oxford University (UK). I hold an MA in Linguistics with a concentration on Language Teaching from Syracuse University (NY). I am working on a PhD from the Ohio State University (OH) in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education. In particular, I teach and mentor writers, and am experienced with everything from test preparation to dissertations and publications. Much of my teaching experience was in China, and I greatly enjoy the opportunity tutoring allows for me to work with learners of diverse backgrounds.

I particularly enjoy studying ancient Rome and how the past can be so different, hiking, and games of strategy.
