I graduated from Barry University in Miami, Florida, where I received my Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology / Chemistry, with a minor in French. After graduation, I worked for hospitals and various pharmaceutical / biologics companies where I developed curriculum and taught students and held workshops for healthcare sales professionals in the US and Latin / South America. I am quirky, funny, creative, enthusiastic, but patient and non-judgmental. My versality allows me to match my teaching method to my student's learning style. Although I teach various subjects, I am most passionate about teaching ESL. Having immigrated to the US as a child, with no knowledge of the English language, I was bullied by school mates for not knowing how to speak English. I watched my parents struggle to just communicate. I quickly realized the importance of being able to converse in English in order to just "survive" in a new country and improve the quality of our lives. Our struggles spurred me to become certified and teach ESL (online and in person) to adults and children, in order to help them succeed in life and mainstream into society. I have translated and voiced over films from English to Spanish for the Diocese of Dallas. I believe the relationship between student and teacher has to be one of desire and interest on both parts. The student has to desire to learn; while the teacher has a desire and enthusiasm to teach and share their knowledge. Without interest there is no learning or sharing. Whether I'm teaching Spanish, English, ESL, cooking or petroleum engineering, I want to share my enthusiasm in the subject so that the student enjoys learning and assimilating the information and is successful in accomplishing their goals. In my spare time, I like to cook; hike; go on photography shoots; dance and read.
