About Me
I am passionate about helping students identify and achieve their learning goals because I recognize, based on personal and professional experience, that there is power in committing to goals and making a clear plan to reach or exceed those goals. Life changes all the time and our learning goals should as well. The more we reach from our current level to the next, the more we grow, even if it may hurt a little! In my life I have worked with students of all ages on two continents. I believe that learning is a partnership and both student and tutor/teacher should be changed for the good because of the interactions. I was formally educated both in the United States and Spain. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Mexican American Studies, a Master's Degree in Spanish Linguistics, Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership, and a lifetime teaching certificate (various areas of certification) in the state of Texas. I continue to be informally educated, though, wherever I go. My perspective is that learning happens continually, if we maintain a posture of humility. In support of that, I would like my students to know that I am taking steps to get a Paralegal Degree and my next goal will be my Doctoral Degree! Outside of academia I am interested in travel, gardening, astronomy, nature, reading, painting, and more.
