10+ years of tutoring
Sarah
- I have over 10 years of experience in education, most recently as an Instructor of Spanish at the University of Georgia.
- I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring Spanish at the high school and college level.
About Me
I also have experience tutoring ACT Test Prep, math (particularly algebra), English, and other humanities-related topics (Social Studies, etc.) at the high school level. As a current PhD student of linguistics, education is an important part of my life, and I am passionate about sharing my love of learning with others. Helping students overcome roadblocks they encounter is my favorite part about teaching. It is rewarding for me to see something 'click' in a student's mind after working together to understand a difficult concept. When I tutor a student, I take time to get to know their personality and learning preferences in order to tailor my lesson accordingly. I find that students are more receptive when they are able to interact with the material in a way that makes sense to them. As an instructor, I offer a variety of activities to digest new material so that each student feels that their learning preferences are taken into consideration.
Hobbies & Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, reading, baking, and getting outdoors. Lately, we enjoy going to the Farmer's Market to find produce that we are unfamiliar with and cook new dishes.
