Jeremy
- I have always loved math and science.
About Me
That's why I went to college for physics. After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, I went on to get my Masters and PhD from Kent State University. My dream was to become a research scientist and make the kind of interesting discoveries that I heard about when I was a kid. However, I discovered that I enjoy teaching much more than doing research so I became a high school teacher. In addition to teaching high school math and physics, I have taught math at a community college and physics at a university. I spent several years working as a tutor while I was in college and a teaching assistant in grad school. I have also done private tutoring for high school and college students. I am comfortable with any level of math or physics. I always try to make my lessons relatable to my students by using real-world examples like riding in a car. After teaching high school for six years, I decided to go back to school for medical physics so that I could use my love for physics to help people suffering from cancer. I now work at a radiation oncology clinic but I did not lose my passion for teaching.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy cooking and woodworking, especially with old scrap wood. I love creating something beautiful out of what other people consider trash. I enjoy tinkering with electronics and mechanical systems. Basically, I enjoy anything that gives me a chance to be creative or fix something. I also enjoy long hikes in the woods, science fiction movies, and reading about scientific advancements.
