Certified Tutor

Hello students and families, my name is Tarek. I attended Temple University where I majored in biology and graduated #1 in my class with distinction in my major. I am a big fan of science simply because science is discovery and I have a deep love for novelty and adventure. I've been working with students all my life, first as a peer mentor and later on as a formal tutor/mentor. I have had great success with my students over the years and continue to keep close relations with many of my former students. Learning is a lifelong task so I seek to keep my tutoring relationships long term. Currently I am taking time off from school in order to pursue other life goals outside of the classroom. However, with that being said, I am currently in the process of applying to Medical School so that I may begin working towards my Doctorate in Medicine in the Fall of 2014.

When working with students, I try to approach problems from various angles as often science has parallels in other fields. In addition, we all occupy the same world and therefore have some degree of intuition as to how things should work. I like to draw on that intuition to help students conceptualize various topics.

I live to work and therefore give 110% in everything I do. I believe that we can truly get to know ourselves only by pushing ourselves beyond our limits.
