I graduated from the Florida State University with a B.A. in classical archaeology and art history; I am currently a graduate student at the University of Arizona finishing my M.A. in classical archaeology. The bulk of my tutoring experience is in Latin, History, Literature, and Religious Studies; I also have experience working with students to edit and revise their writing, term papers, and presentations.
I would describe my tutoring style as informal and conversational-- I got my start by tutoring my Latin classmates in high school and college, and I've retained the egalitarian approach because I find it helps to make learning fun and feel less like "work."
Outside of the academic realm, I spend a lot of time reading and I miss being able to go sailing (not much opportunity for that in the desert). I am a fervent fan of Florida State football (go Noles!) and do my best to follow the games despite being so far from the mothership. I'm also an enthusiast for baseball, one of the most beautiful games there is. I listen to a lot of baroque music, I regularly go out for trivia nights with my friends, I'm a sucker for old noir private detective movies and stories, and as a guilty pleasure I rot my brain with video games.
