Certified Tutor

I graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Biology and National University with a BS in Math. I am a retired math teacher from San Diego Unified School District where I taught primarily 6th grade through 8th grade math. I tutor lower level math to Algebra. My favorite subject to teach/tutor is Pre-Algebra since it is the gateway to the upper level math classes.

I try to show the students that there is math all around them and show them how it can relate to their daily lives. When I teach and tutor, I try to make it fun and encourage them.

My outside interests are photography, hiking and traveling. These interests eventually took me to Africa where I started my teaching and spent 7 1/2 years. During that time I learned the language and the culture.
