I believe we are born with a desire to learn and that, with the right light, we can each continue on that journey throughout or lives. No one person understands or internalizes each lesson in exactly the same way, although many of the basic principles are the bases for this understanding and future growth.
It is here where we are charged to help others understand in a manner that best accommodates their learning, and then empower them with the tools (and desire) to seek out those answers on their own.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
I always want to know what the learner's past experience has been with a particular subject and where the breakdown began. Everyone can learn; they just need to believe it-and they need someone to help them understand in a way that best meets their needs. If my learners know that I am invested in their success and care about who they are, then they will begin to rise to the expectations and soon have the confidence and the abilities that were hidden there all along.
