I feel it is important to make learning interesting and creative.

Progression needs to be planned for, so that as students work and explore at their own pace, there is something else to move them on and take them further in their learning. I also believe that differentiation and meeting varied learning styles are key to effective teaching and learning.

I aim to give students as many learning opportunities and experiences as possible in order to engage, motivate, and prepare them for future life.

What is your teaching philosophy?

The surest way to make sure a student understands material is to ask them to teach it/explain it in their own words.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

During the first session, it is important to get to know a student's personality and interests as well as their learning style.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Independent learners become so because they are inspired. It is imperative to understand what makes the student excited, and focus on those methods.
