Certified Tutor
As an undergraduate, I was privileged to have many teaching experiences. Starting my sophomore year, I began working for the Center for Teaching and Learning as a Teaching Fellow for the Geoscience Department, and in my senior year as a Lead Teaching Fellow. As a Teaching Fellow at HWS Colleges, I was responsible for helping all introductory courses in the Geoscience Department during nightly hours held in the Department building. Sometimes I also had the opportunity to help upper level students, and I loved discussing and teaching other Geoscience majors. At the time, I as also enrolled in the Colleges’ Teacher Certification Program, and was also interning as a Student Tutor in local middle and high schools. Teaching both adolescents and college students during that time helped me find and develop my passion for teaching. In graduate school, I taught Introduction to Geology for two semesters. In the fall of 2017 I will begin a teaching apprenticeship in Boston to get my Middle School Science Teaching License.
