Certified Tutor

I am a freshman Computer Science major at Carnegie Mellon University. I have freelanced tutored in computer science for several years, as well as other math and science topics. I also have extensive formal training in writing center theory and tutoring, and have worked in a writing center as a tutor, focusing on both academic essays and college admissions essays. I enjoy helping students discover their passion for a subject and build the fundamental skills they need in order to continue individual success. My teaching philosophy is based on a student focused approach in order to asses and fix fundamentals integral to the subject area. I try to balance those long term goals with teaching problem solving techniques and exam strategies in order to increase short term achievement as well. Outside of being a computer science major, I am also a former camp counselor, an aspiring physics minor, and a dancer in CMU's co-ed Bollywood dance team, CMU Sahara.
