My interest in writing started in college when my English professor told me I had a flair for writing. Since then, I studied Journalism at The University of Memphis in Tennessee. While there, I became a staff writer for Grace Magazine. I wrote feature stories, book reviews, health education pieces, and more.

After relocating to Houston, I became interested in graphic design because I learned so many things from the graphic designer with Grace Magazine. I decided to return to school and study Digital Communications with a specialization in Graphic Design. I graduated with high honors in 2015. I continued my education at The University of Houston-Downtown in the Professional Writing program.

Now, I am an inducted member of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Currently, I am a Journalist/Communications Specialist for The Macaroni Kid, a family publication, and resource dedicated to keeping readers in the know about community news and events. I interview celebrities and write stories, and theater, movie, and restaurant reviews. I take press trips and cover the happenings for kids and families in other cities such as San Antonio. My literary ken has grown tremendously.

My passion for writing and reading remains steadfast and unmovable. I want students to develop their writing, reading, and speaking skills. Proficiency in these areas unlock doors and break down barriers to learning. A sound education makes you better because it gives you a solid foundation on which to stand.
