One of the most important aspects of my teaching is to convey material in a pragmatic, hands-on way. I often like to draw on my own personal experiences, which consequently creates a high level of engagement with my students. Examples of such references comprise instances of socio-historical outlook on global or European issues, the ways I struggled to learn a particular grammatical paradigm, the way I gradually became comfortable with public speech, or reflections on my own encounters with foreign cultures and social contexts. Of course, the Communicative Method we most often use is an excellent tool to actively and physically involve students in the learning process, but going the extra mile always has its rewards, both from the students and my own point of view. To see the raising of the students awareness level, and, consequently, the development of their performance, is the best feedback an instructor can ever have, and also a confirmation of these extra efforts. To be sure, these should both encompass an optimal combination of diverse professional teaching methods, and the instructors individual endeavors to increase teaching effectiveness as well as to enhance the student-instructor relationship. It is very important for students to know that their instructor looks out for them beyond the classroom walls too.
