Certified Tutor

I am an American just returned from a four-year sojourn in France, where I worked as an au pair for a Franco-Swiss family, taught English in a French high school, tutored private students in English, and immersed myself in the local culture and language.

In addition to my passion for foreign languages, I love English, both the practicalities and the technicalities; being also adept with words and grammar, I enjoy helping others to improve their communicative skills and understanding of the wherefores of language - be it in English or in French.

I thrive upon the written word and spend vast amounts of time reading and listening to books: French classics (in French, for the sheer joy of it), young adult novels in English, Austen and Gaskell, biographies. I love stories and the words used to recount them.

I also run, which gives me time to make more stories in my mind, and I write down tales as they come to me, although I have yet to publish any of these.
