I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

My name is Gayden and I am an extremely passionate educator with a proclivity for working with highly motivated and creative students in the areas of creative writing, critical thinking, debate reading comprehension, EFL, music, philosophy, test taking skills, business english, social skills and a host of other subjects. I have been teaching in Hong Kong for the past 4 years and plan on returning after completing one more degree so that I am able to inject the system of education with as much creativity and imaginative thinking as possible! Additionally, I attended Florida State University where I majored in Music Education and Music Performance with a minor in Psychology. I then went on to study at MIT in Boston where I majored in Philosophy and Linguistics and had the incredibly profound and humbling opportunities to study with some of the greatest thinkers and intellectuals alive today. It is with all of these experiences that I imbue into my teaching to facilitate the learning process and ascertaining of knowledge in the best and most progressive way possible! My teachers at MIT always used the epigram "apply sideways" which one may interpret in many different ways and it is through this channel that we shall work towards all of your goals, dreams and more!!! Outside of teaching I enjoy cooking, writing music and abstract poetry, hiking, reading and creating experimental art installments with friends around the country. I am also working on an educational show for children in Hong Kong right now where I am writing all of the music and collaborating with other friends to start filing as soon as possible. I will play the host when I return which I have always wanted to do akin to Pee-Wee Herman and other such eccentric characters.
