Certified Tutor

I currently work as a special education teacher at Belding Elementary School in Chicago, IL. I have been teaching for the past four years and truly enjoy working with students one-on-one or in small groups in order to effectively address areas of need in a personalized, rigorous manner. I am passionate about meeting students where they are and finding personalized ways of pushing them further than they ever imagined they could go.

I grew up in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state and moved to Chicago to attend North Park University. I was proud to graduate as the co-valedictorian of my class with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.

After college, I was accepted into the Teach for America program as a Corps Member and received intensive training before being placed in a K-8 elementary school on the west side of the city. I fell in love with my kids and the challenge of pushing them to think deeper, work harder, and chase success. While teaching full-time during my Teach for America commitment, I earned my Master's degree in Special Education. And the rest is history!

When not teaching or spending time with my lovely boyfriend and close friends, I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, eating all the salty snacks I can get, and planning exciting travel experiences.
