Certified Tutor

I graduated with a Masters of Arts in English Literature, Rhetoric, and Composition from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. I received my Bachelors in English from this university as well. While earning my degrees, I worked as a co-director of a tutoring center sponsored by a grant through Missouri Baptist Childrens Home. I spent every day managing the facility and tutoring all subjects for kids ranging in grade level from kindergarten to high school. I also privately tutored English at the college level. I happily tutor in all k-12 subjects, but tutoring in any area of English is near and dear to my heart. I love helping students experience stories and learn how to use their own words to tell their own stories. I truly believe that stories make us better people, and I love being able to share the power of stories with children. Outside of academia, youll most likely find me reading a book. I love all types of fiction. Right now I am especially interested in science fiction and fantasy novels. If Im not reading, Im most likely to be found doing something craftypainting, sculpting, crocheting, cross-stitching, etc.hanging out with my dog at the dog park, spending time with my friends and family, or writing fiction of my own. I believe in tutoring and treating each student with dignity, integrity, and respect. I aim to tutor in ways that honor and enhance their personal backgrounds and characters. No success is too small to acknowledge and celebrate!
