Certified Tutor

I am PASSIONATE about creating a meaningfully Tutor/Student relationship. I graduated from Elmhurst College Magna Cum Laude with a degree in English/Theatre Secondary Education. During my time at Elmhurst I was a Tutor for the Elmhurst Writing Center. As a tutor I know the importance of building up a trusting relationship in a comforting environment where students feel able to open up, make mistakes, and get on track for success. I am a certified teacher in Indiana and Illinois 6-12 grade English/Theatre. In addition, I've also had experience work with Sylvan Learning Center. During my time there I was able to help students pinpoint their weak areas in order to turn them into strengths. I know what it takes to help a student decipher and decode complex passages in a 1:1 setting through my time as a tutor. I graduated with the highest distinction from Valparaiso University Graduate School with a Masters in English. I also hold a Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University Law School. Currently, I work in Education Policy in Chicago, IL.
