I am a graduate of Meredith College, a liberal arts women's college in North Carolina. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on middle grades education. I am an experienced public school educator, and I have worked for the past 10 years in a variety of positions with students in grades 6-12. I have significant experience working with Academically Gifted students, and I am skilled in helping these students achieve high goals while also mastering the time management and processing skills necessary for challenging course work. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, writing, and History. I enjoy helping students learn the best way to express their ideas in writing and how to understand the ways the world has developed around them. I am a firm believer in the growth mindset, and I make sure that all students know they are capable of great things. In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, running, and spending time with family.
