Certified Tutor

I am a Christian, wife, mother, daughter, sister, coach, friend, former Mrs. Mississippi America (2019), and a graduate of Hinds Community College, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Jackson State University. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and am currently pursuing my doctorate. From teaching junior high and high school to teaching dual enrollment and junior college-level English, I have experience in all things "English" and beyond. I have a minor in social studies, so I have also taught psychology and sociology. One of my greatest passions is teaching creative writing to incarcerated veterans at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (CMCF). While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, literature, and writing (creative, academic, and technical). In my experience helping struggling students prepare for standardized tests, essays (undocumented or documented), and resumes, we always seem to have the most fun . . . well, as "fun" as I can make it for all students. I am a firm, consistent proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely essential for an improved quality of life, especially since so many are not only trying to better themselves but because so many are also trying to further their education to better the lives of their own families (often being the first in the family to do so), and I try to impart this appreciation for all of my students.
