Certified Tutor

My ultimate goal is to serve as an instrument in helping students achieve personal and professional success. I aspire to build my reputation as a very strong role model in my community, like that of the role models I had growing up. There are many influential people in my life, and when times become the most trying, I think back to key pieces of advice each one of these role models has passed down to me at one time or another. I strive to be just as influential through my various outreach and volunteer activities.

I have a simple philosophy as a tutor. It is important to understand the student's strengths and weaknesses. I accomplish this by developing a channel of communication between me and my students. I ask what their favorite subjects are in school and why. I also ask what their interests are and use those interests to strengthen their weaknesses. Communication and confidence are key in academic success, so I tutor and mentor with these qualities.

I am a professional actor and writer. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts and Literature, along with a Certificate in Professional Writing. After graduation, I moved to New York to work for a youth organization called Serving Teens through Arts Resources, where I combined both my theatre and writing education to act, write and teach. Now in Chicago, I work as professional actor, producer, writer, and freelance tutor, upholding my values of effective communication and inspiration at the helm of all I do.
