Certified Tutor

I graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology, the State University of New York in 1987. I received my Bachelor of Science in Marketing. I worked in the Fashion Industry in New York City for many years. More recently, I have acquired eight years of experience working as a Paraprofessional in a public school, focusing on students with learning disabilities. I have also worked in a general education setting with students in grades K-5. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher for Swing Education, ESS, and Wayne Public Schools. I also serve as an independent contractor, tutoring students online through Varsity Tutors, TutorGigs, and Cignition. I also worked for VIPKid, teaching Chinese learners how to speak English. It brings me great joy to watch students progress. I can adapt lessons to be fun and entertaining for students by adding games and rewards or I can teach straightforward and serious, adapting to each class's style and comfort level. I can scaffold a lesson up or down to practice what the students need most. I believe that children learn in different ways I will work hard to find the best method for my students. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, yoga, and spending time with my family, my dogs, and my friends at my vacation home in Southern New Jersey.
