Certified Tutor

I completed a BA in Anthropology and a BFA in Commercial Art in 1996, both with honors from the University of Central Missouri. In 1998, I completed a MA in Art with an emphasis in Watercolor at the same university. During my studies, I achieved honors in the university's juried Student Citation Awards Show and won the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Anthropology from the Department of History and Anthropology. I have presented work in juried shows and exhibitions across the Mid-west and East Coast. Such exhibitions as the Red River Watercolor Society juried exhibition in 2000 where I won the DaVinci Merchandise Award, and the Kansas City Regional Council For Higher Education. My current series of work combines my love of anthropology with my ambitions in painting. I paint landscapes and cityscapes in a photorealistic style with arbitrary color choices. I do this to draw attention to places that have a history that may not be familiar with most viewers. My passion has developed into teaching, having spent time with grade levels K-12th in all areas of education. I am experienced in areas of reading, writing, history, physical education, and art. Some science, biology, and mathematics too. I have a long history of being a personal trainer and gym owner, so I am very comfortable working one-on-one with clients. And also, I believe in being prompt and on time with lessons. In my spare time, I am active in producing art, weightlifting, reading voraciously and learning recipes from other cultures to try on with my friends.
