I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Scott

Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor of Arts & Sciences, double majoring in Astrophysics and Applied Mathematics at Florida State University. During my last three years of college I worked in the library learning district as a math and physics tutor. from Trigonometry to Calculus 2, as well as Physics 1 and 2. Library tutors have had extensive group tutoring experience, as well as online tutoring experience. Apart from that, I also worked for a new program put on by the education department, called a "Learning Assistant". As a Learning Assistant, I was assigned to a Calculus 1 class, and acted as a sort of "in class tutor" where students can ask questions without disrupting the professor from lecture. It was intended for the large lecture courses so the professors can cover more material. My teaching philosophy is that I will always be willing to do anything I need to, for you to understand the concepts fully. Having had professors give up on trying to help me before, I make it my moral obligation to never discourage students and work any method necessary to get the subject martial learned well and long term. My favorite subjects to tutor are physics and calculus because after a certain point, you begin to realize how intertwined and "the same" both subjects are. Outside of academia I love to do music production, making hip-hop/edm beats.
