Studying French and German is extremely fascinating and rewarding. It allows me to discover the various historical and cultural aspects associated with these languages that I was not able to delve into further at school due to the curriculum being primarily centred around the language itself.

Being part of both the French and German society at my university has allowed me to also explore the social aspect to these languages and engage more with the popular culture. Familiarising yourself with aspects such as music and films in your target language is extremely motivational and I have found it has reinforced my will to learn even more about the languages, the countries they are spoken in and the cultures associated with them.
