Certified Tutor

I have a PGCE in teaching primary 5-11 and I have more than 4 years experience in tutoring online. I have taught students aged 4 to 14 years old English and Maths. I specialise in tutoring Primary Maths and English and I have experience preparing students for their SATs.

I begin my sessions with a game of the student's choice and then for the main session I show a PowerPoint including interactive activities, educational games and quizzes. At the end of each session, I give verbal and written feedback to parents so they know what their child has been learning about.

I use an adaptive teaching style to cater to all different types of learners (kinaesthetic, visual, auditory). I use different teaching approaches as children learn at different rates, and have different needs and learning styles. A goal I have helped students achieve is their SATs.

I prepare for my sessions using feedback from the student's school, and their parents as well as discussing with the student which areas they are struggling with. I like involving the student in order to create personalised session plans to meet their needs. I set homework tasks for the students to complete in-between lessons to consolidate their learning.
