Certified Tutor

I have been passionate about education and helping students succeed for over 20 years. As a teacher and tutor, I find great joy in seeing that "aha!" moment when a student grasps a difficult concept. My goal is to instill confidence in each student while providing a nurturing environment for them to reach their academic potential.

With two decades of experience teaching mathematics from middle school through early college, I have worked with hundreds of students one-on-one and in a classroom setting. My specialty is in making complicated math topics accessible and less intimidating. I patiently guide students through problems step-by-step, encouraging them to think critically rather than simply memorize formulas.

I have a Master's in Education and Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also certified to teach mathematics grades 6-12, including gifted students. The subjects I regularly tutor include pre-algebra, algebra I, geometry, college algebra, GED, ACT, or equivalent courses. When I can, I love showing students how math applies to real-world situations.

My approach is to meet each student where they are academically. I work to identify gaps and strengthen shaky foundations. I believe by building confidence through nuts and bolts understanding, students begin to trust their own abilities. My goal by the end of each session is for students to feel encouraged rather than frustrated by math. I provide customized problem sets and feedback so students see consistent progress. Most of all, I demonstrate patience and support, which are vital when tackling challenging material. My ultimate reward is when a student masters a concept they have struggled with - that moment when everything clicks!
